Food Safety Education Month | Evan Powell

It's Food Safety Education Month, and Chris is joined by Evan Powell, Retail Food Protection Manager at Kwik Trip to discuss how Kwik Trip approaches food safety to help ensure the health and wellbeing of our guests and our coworkers. They talk about the processes and personnel in place to help make sure that all of the food that comes in and out of our stores is safe, plus the ways that technology has adapted to help make a safer food future. Evan then shares some facts about an important facet of our food service program, the Feeding America Food Rescue Program.

It’s Corn! | Ryan Sauer and Shannon Textor

Chris chats with Ryan Sauer and Shannon Textor from the Iowa Corn Growers Association in the leadup to the CyHawk Series football game this weekend between the University of Iowa and Iowa State. They chat about the advocacy and educational work that Iowa Corn does, serving as a voice for the corn industry at a state and federal level. Fresh off the heels of the Kwik Trip Moto Takeover, Whit Meza stops by to chat with Chris about her challenge of trying to hit every Kwik Trip and Kwik Star store on her Harley-Davidson. They talk about the intitial plan, how things changed on the fly, and how she was still able to hit 546 stores total, including 503 in Wisconsin. Whit describes the challenges of endurance motorcycle riding, eating every single meal at Kwik Trip, her favorite locations to ride, and what she enjoys most about being on the road.

We head out to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to check out the area as Kwik Star will be opening there this fall, and Chris sat down with Matt Barthel from Experience Sioux Falls to learn all about the area. Experience Sioux Falls is the primary tourism department for the town, and Matt shares insight about the arts and culture in the area, some of the great food and dining spots, the rivalry between the University of South Dakota and South Dakota State, and why he has found Sioux Falls a great place to call home. 

Tour of America’s Dairyland | Bill Koch

The Kwik Trip Tour of America's Dairyland is coming up in June, and Chris chats with Bill Koch, the executive director of the ToAD, about all things cycling. The ToAD is an 11 day event starting June 15th that spans 11 different cities in Wisconsin, and we talk about the origins of the event and how it's grown into cycling competition that has attracted riders from all around the world. Listen in to learn about the logisitcs of how this event is pulled off, how you can watch (or register to race!), and the role that Kwik Trip chocolate milk plays in powering the cyclists. 

Brewers Baseball and Clubhouse Culture | Tim Dillard

The Milwaukee Brewers are off to a hot start, and Chris chats with former Brewers pitcher and Bally Sports Wisconsin analyst Tim Dillard about the first few weeks of the regular season, the impressive play of some of the rookies, and his thoughts on some of the rule changes new to this season. They then talk about Tim's long and winding career, reminisce about the 2008 season that helped revive a passion for baseball in Milwaukee, his brand of content and social media, and talk about the way in which culture and leadership cross over from the dugout into real life.

Expanding to South Dakota | Joe Stortz

In 2023, Kwik Trip Inc. will be expanding into South Dakota, and Joe Stortz is the District Leader at Kwik Trip who is helping to oversee the project. Chris chats with Joe about the logistics of expanding west, the mechanics of hiring for and opening a new store, and sheds some light on the beautiful area of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where there will be a number of new Kwik Star stores opening this fall.
